    Program Offerings

    We offer campus-based MAE and Ph.D. degree programs and online M.Ed., Ed.S. and Ed.D. degree programs in Curriculum and Instruction with a specialty in Educational Technology. We also offer online graduate certificate programs, an undergraduate specialization within our College’s Education Sciences major and an undergraduate Ed Tech minor.

    Doctorate Program

    The Ph.D. in Mathematics Education at the University of Florida prepares educator-researchers to lead in curriculum, instruction, and mathematics education through rigorous scholarship, teaching experience, and professional engagement. Graduates will engage in conference presentations, publish manuscripts, teach undergraduate methods courses, and collaborate on teacher-professional development—positioning them for impactful roles in academia, research, and leadership.

    Online M.A.E.

    Master’s Program

    The Master of Arts in Education (M.A.E.) in Mathematics Education at the University of Florida empowers educators and aspiring instructors to deepen their understanding of mathematics teaching and learning. With flexible pathways—whether a 30-credit track, a combined 30-credit licensure + M.A.E. option, or a 36-credit route including advanced mathematics coursework—the program accommodates a range of professional goals from K-12 teaching to community college instruction and doctoral preparation.

    Secondary Teaching Preparation

    Certificate Program

    This 18-credit certification program is fully approved by the Florida Department of Education and leads to eligibility for Professional Educator certification in Florida. Students from out of state are welcome to apply. Be sure you understand the implications for your own state’s teaching certification requirements.
